Friends of Daley Ranch Executive Board Minutes

December 8, 2005

 

The meeting was called to order at Tracey Brown’s home.

  1. Present: Tracey Brown, Jerry Harmon, Irene O’Neill, Rick Paul, Carol Stanford, Sally Thomas, Fred Woods

  2. Minutes of November 8, 2005 were approved as presented.

  3. Treasurer’s Report: There are no outstanding bills as this time. The bank balance is $15,033.50.  Guy and Mary Jo Harmon sent their generous annual gift, and Irene will send a thank you. The accountant’s bill has not yet been received, but the Irene was authorized to pay it when received.

 

  1. Old Business:

    1. Staff Report on Ranch House Improvements: Fred reported there is no new Staff Report yet. Councilman Newman’s suggestion that FODR be more directly involved with the Staff planning sessions was discussed.  ACTION: Sally will call Clay Phillips to request interview for newsletter to discuss Mr. Newman’s suggestion, and other ways the Conservancy could help with the Ranch House and with Stanley Peak.

 

    1. Stanley Peak: No new news has surfaced. Board decided wait awhile longer. ACTION: Sally will revise CRN cover letter to get the same information to Tom Oberbauer at SD County Planning. Fred will provide the additional parcel numbers for undeveloped lots on the north.

 

    1. Strategic Planning Consultant: Jerry reported that the December 2 San Diego Foundation meeting was helpful and our participation will be useful. ACTION: Jerry will attend the follow-up sessions as FODR’s representative and contact referrals he was given to find money and leader for the strategic planning session. He also suggested inviting Geoffrey Smith from TECC to January meeting.

 

  1. New Business:

    1. Membership event: Alternatives were considered but nothing specifically was selected for this Spring’s event. ACTION: Rick will research the ownership and parcel numbers for developed and undeveloped lots on the west and south sides of the Ranch. 

 

    1. Newsletter: The next newsletter will be mailed in February. ACTION: Tracey, Carol and Irene will contribute. David Sibley as given us permission to use his line drawing of the wrentit to accompany an article.   

 

The next meeting will be at the Train Station, 7:00p.m., January 12, 2006. Bring your calendars.
