Old Business:
Outbuilding Restoration: Fred and Mike
made a presentation to the History Center. Their request for
participation of the Historical Society was well received. Wendy
Barker, Director of History Center, will meet with Mike and Fred and
attend the March Board meeting to plan how FODR can work with the
Historical Society to accomplish the restoration. Mike, Fred and Rick
will meet with Bob McQuade to get his suggestions on the sequencing
of tasks to be done for the restoration. They will report back to the
Board in March.
Restoration Fund Raising: Rick Paul will investigate T-Shirt production to get started. Irene moved, and Carol seconded the approve expenditure to buy the shirts. The May Street Fair may be an opportunity to promote awareness and begin collecting donations for the project.
Plant guides: Funds for restocking the plant guides were approved. Tracey will contact Janene to get the master disk for the reproduction. Fred will then follow up to get the printing done.
New Business:
Workshop February 28: The Escondido
Charitable Foundation Workshop will focus on health programs, the
grant area for the next round. The Board felt that it would not be
useful for FODR to participate at this time.
TECC presentation: On behalf of Kevin Bernard, Jerry presented TECC's request for FODR support and participation in a project to acquire the 282 acres of VonSeggren property for connectivity to MHCP designated wildlife corridors. The property lies in the Escondido Creek Watershed and will bridge a gap between City-owned watershed and Lake Wolford. The Board agreed to support the concept. No action was requested at this time.
San Diego Tracking Team: SDTT has requested a contribution from tracking team sponsors. Discussion was tabled until more information is received.
Next meeting: March 20, 2008 at the Train Station. 7:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted for Rick Mercurio,
